Our state-of-the-art greenhouse farms grow
THE FRESHEST LOCAL PRODUCE YEAR-ROUND

Each greenhouse uses sustainable farming methods that take advantage of natural sunlight and conserve water.

Growing local starts with hiring local. All BrightFarmers are paid a living wage and receive full healthcare benefits.

HOW WE GROW

Our farms are designed with hydroponic systems that allow for water recirculation. Our hydroponic systems use a mineral-based nutrient solution to nourish our produce in a soilless environment. That means that we use less water than conventional agriculture and there is no agricultural runoff.

THE BENEFITS OF HYDROPONICS

The design of the hydroponic systems allows for water recirculation. That means that we use less water than conventional agriculture and there is no agricultural runoff. For greens, we use around 7X less water.
Yields for lettuces and herbs are higher when grown hydroponically compared to field agriculture per square foot. We use up to 10X less land than field agriculture.
Our greenhouses allow year round growing and harvesting in a controlled environment, greater control of our growing climate, and greater control of pests and disease. By growing the crops in a soilless medium, we can add the optimal amount and mixture of nutrients that each specific crop requires.
Water that is not taken up by the plants, ‘run-off’ water, is recaptured and used over and over again.
We employ an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program to control insects. This program uses beneficials (a.k.a. the good insects) like Ladybugs to control predator pests (a.k.a. the bad insects) like Whitefly, Aphid, Spidermite and Leafminer.
